Hyde Park Dog Show
The 15th of June 2011 saw the very first Connaught Village Festival Dog Show, proudly supported and organised by the Hyde Park Veterinary Centre. All proceeds raised from the event went to the Mayhew Animal Home.
The competition was strong with over 50 dogs turning up on the day to battle it out over categories such as the dog that looks most like it's owner, dog with the best trick and the prestiguous Hound of Hyde Park award.
Over £500 was raised for the Mayhew Animal Home. The Mayhew Animal Home has a vision of a world where all companion animals are wanted. Offering a wide variety of community services, the Mayhew Animal Home strives to tackle the companion animal welfare crisis from every angle. If you would like to read more information on the home, how donations are used, or for information on volunteering, please visit the Mayhew Animal Home.
With a Lily's Kitchen Diner, red carpet entrance and celebrity judges, it appeared that one and all enjoyed the show. One resident commented that this event had "made the festival", with a response like that I'm sure the Connaught Village Festival will be happy to continue the show for years to come. Already we've been asked for categories to encompass the senior pets of the Village, so for all of those who missed out this year, start preparing your best tricks and most identical smiles for next June.
